HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-21-1976 MINUTES OF CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF THE CITY OF OCOEE HELD 21 DECEMBER 76 I Mayor Breeze called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the meeting was opened with prayer from Reverend Pinson, followed by the pledge of allegiance to the flag. Present were Commissioners Lyle, Crawford, Whitehead and Stinnett; City Manager, Vignetti; City Attorney, Rhodes; and City Clerk, Gann. APPROVAL OF 7 DECEMBER 76 COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES Minutes of the City Commission meeting held 7 December were read. Mayor pointed out that on pg. 2, paragraph five said minutes should read "Ocoee Shopping Center", instead of Boogaarts Shopping Center. Comm. Crawford moved to accept minutes as corrected, seconded by Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous. ZONING BOARD MINUTES OF 14 DECEMBER 76 Minutes of the Zoning Board meeting held 14 December were read into the record for information purposes only. BUILDING TRADES ORDINANCE - BUILDING, ELECTRICAL,MECHANICAL,PLUMBING,SWIMMING POOL City Manager read a paragraph of each of the aforementioned ordinances. The City Manager explained that said ordinances would be published on 29 December and a Public Hearing on same would be held 18 January 77. 1st reading of the ordinances will be held 4 January 77. I CITY MANAGER REPORTS AND INFORMATION City Manager explained that Occupational License were being sold on a 3/4th year basis (1 Jan thru 30 Sept.) to comply with Florida State Statutes that occuaptional license be for fiscal year and not calendar year. City Manager requested permission to advertise water tank at #2 well for bids. Comm. Crawford moved that all available water tanks be advertised for bid, seconded by Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous. City Manager stated work had begun to change the basement of City Hall into a planning room and should be completed by 15 January 77. City Hall will be closed 23,24 & 31 December. The shop and sanitation crews will operate on their normal schedule on those days. City Manager requested a work session to discuss insurance. Comm. Lyle moved to hold a Special Meeting on 28 Dec. to open insurance bids, seconded by Comm. Crawford. Unanimous.
