Present were Commissioners Lyle, Whitehead and Stinnett; City Manager, Vignetti; City Attorney, Rhodes and City Clerk, Gann. Comm. Crawford was absent. APPROVAL OF 21 DECEMBER 76 COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES Minutes of the 21 December Commission Meeting were read. Comm. Whitehead moved to accept minutes as read, seconded by Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. APPROVAL OF 28 DECEMBER 76 COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES (SPECIAL MEETING) Minutes of 28 December 76 Special Meeting were read. Comm. Lyle moved to accept minutes as read, seconded by Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous. 1ST READING BUILDING TRADES ORDINANCE; BUILDING,ELECTRICAL,MECHANICAL, PLUMBING AND SWIMMING POOL..PUBLIC HEARING 18 JANUARY 77. Comm. Whitehead moved that City Manager read title only of aforementioned ordinance, seconded by Cornm. Stinnett. Unanimous. City Manager read title only of aforementioned ordinance. Public Hearing and .2nd reading of this ordinance will held on 18 January 77. INSURANCE - MULTI PERIL - AUTO PHYSICAL DAMAGE AND AUTO LIABILITY The City's Insurance Agent of Record, Doug Everd briefed council on the Multi Peril and Auto Physical Damage and Auto Liability insurance bids received at Special Meeting on 28 December. After much discussion Cornm. Lyle moved to split the coverage granting Allstate the Auto coverage for $22,110. per year and Don Mott Agency the Multi Peril coverage for $10,302. per year, seconded by Cornm. Whitehead. Unanimous. Comm. Lyle moved that the necessary resolutions be prepared and sent to the insurance agencies, seconded by Cornm. Whitehead. Unanimous. CHRIS SEVERANCE - OCOEE JR. HIGH SCHOOL BAND Chris Severance carne before council on behalf of the Ocoee Jr. Band requestinl a donation to help defray the cost of new band uniforms. After much discuss- ion council requested that Mr. Severance corne back to the next meeting with figures as to how much is needed and how much has been collected thus far. JERRY WEEKS - WORKMENS COMPENSATION Jerry Weeks of Wurst Agency carne before council stating that the Workmens Compensation insurance was up for renewal on 15 January 77 and the annual premium thru Corporate Group Service would be $20,586. (see attached). After I much discussion Comm. Lyle moved to accept the proposal, seconded by Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous. PROPOSED ORDINANCE - FIRE AND BUILDING TRADES BOARD I I I -2- City Manager stated he needed authority to proceed with the publication of proposed ordinance and to establish a public hearing date. Comm. Whitehead moved to grant requested authority, seconded by Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. SALE OF WATER TANK City Manager stated he had a sealed bid from L.E. Smith on the water tank. After much discussion council directed the City Manager to hold the bid until the water tank was advertised. CITY MANAGER, MAYOR AND COMMISSIONER REPORTS City Manager requested permission to purchase a new tape recorder system (cost $590.). Comm. Stinnett moved to purchase, seconded by Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous. Comm. Lyle moved that the Florida Power workers that put up and took down the city Christmas decoration on their own time be treated to a dinner, seconded by Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous. Comm. Stinnett requested that the City Manager give the Sanitation crew his special thanks for cleaning up after the New Years Eve party. Mayor stated that council had been invited to a County Commission meeting to be held at the Orange County Annex in Ocoee on January 11, and a dutch treat luncheon afterwards. The Mayor further explained that after the lunch the County Commissioners and Mayors of surrounding cities were to take a bus trip thru the respective cities and each Mayor would have an opportunity to point out things in their city with which they wanted help from the county in correcting. Mayor gave each councilman a list of his thoughts of things that needed to be thought about as goals and objectives for 1977, and requested that each councilman add his thoughts to the list.
