MINUTES OF THE CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF THE CITY OF.OCOEE HELD 3 MAY 1977

Mayor Breeze called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. and the meeting was
opened with prayer from Reverend Weeks, followed by the pledge of allegiance
to the flag. Present were Comm. Crawford, Stinnett and Whitehead; City Manager,
Vignetti; City Attorney, Rhodes; and City Clerk, Gann. Comm. Lyle was absent.
19 APRIL 77 COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
Minutes of 19 April 77 Commission meeting were read. Page one, paragraph seven
of said minutes should state "this case could possibly be settled out of
court". Comm. Stinnett moved to accept minutes as corrected, seconded by Comm.
Whitehead. Unanimous.
WEST ORANGE FIRE CONTROL DISTRICT - BILL MIMS
The Mayor explained to Mr. Mims that in a recent work session council had
agreed the city would need $50,000.00 to consider granting service to areas
outside of the city. Comm. Stinnett stated if an agreement is reached with
the Fire District the only services to be provided would be fire protection,
the rescue truck would roll only when the fire truck did unless called for
mutual aid by another fire or police representative. Corom. Stinnett further
stated that no additional equipment or manpower would be added to the fire
department. Mr. Mims stated he would recommend that the Fire Commission
contract with Ocoee for $28,000.00 per year for a two year period beginning
in 1977. No definite decision was reached.

REQUEST TO SELL BEER IN CITY - FRANK HOLMES
In the absence of Frank Holmes the City Manager explained that Mr. Holmes was
requesting permission to sell beer at his place of business in the Ocoee
Shopping Center. Comm. Crawford moved to approve request, seconded by Comm.
Stinnett. Unanimous.
COUNTY MAINTAINED ROADS WITHIN CITY LIMITS

City Manager explained that the following county maintained roads within the
city limits will no longer be maintained by the county and will be the
responsibility of the city:
1. Road rights-of-way from the north City Limit of Ocoee via the Ocoee/
Clarcona Road.
2. Fullers CrossRoad.
3. East Crown Point Road.
4. Ocoee/Winter Garden Road to the west city limit of Ocoee.
5. Bowness Road.
6. South 30' of Center Street.
7. Wofford Road from SR 50 to Maguire cutoff.
8. Marshall Farms Road from SR 50 to Maguire cutoff.
9. SR 437 from North city limits of Ocoee to Fullers Cross Road.
Comm. Crawford moved to de-annex #1,2,3,8 and 9 of the above listed. roads,
seconded by Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous.
Comm. Crawford moved that the City Manager write a letter to the county
requesting the South 30' of Center Street be annexed into the city, seconded
by Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous.

BLINKER LIGHT KISSIMMEE/STORY ROAD

City Manager recommended placing a caution light at Kissimmee/Story Road
the approximate cost would be between $1,800. and $2,000. with the county
sharing the cost. Comm. Crawford moved to accept the City Managers recommen-
dation, seconded by Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous.
CITY MANAGER REPORTS AND INFORMATION
Tennis court lighting repairs are complete.
Bay Street project bid opening 19 May 77.
U.S.F.&G attorneys will represent the city in the Session/Keller fire suit.

Thirteen meter heads have been destroyed in the past month~ if person or
persons responsible for this vandalism is caught drastic action will be taken.
The $5,000 from the Maguire Trust Fund has been received.
Mr. Maguire wants $20,000. for the 100' strip of land the city wishes to
purchase.
Mr. Maguire wants 1/3rd of taxes from 1972 to present refunded.
Comm. Crawford moved that the city offer Mr. Maguire $20,000. for the land
less the taxes he wants refunded, seconded by Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous.

Meeting adjourned at 9:50 p.m.
