HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-02-1977 SS I I I MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OCOEE HELD 2 NOVEMBER 1977 Mayor Breeze called the Special Meeting to order at 7:33 P.M. and explained that this Special Meeting was called for the purpose of looking further into the possibility of constructing a Fire Station. Present were Comm. Lyle, Crawford, Stinnett and Whitehead; City Attorney, Rhodes; Office Manager, Wood; and City Clerk, Gann. Mr. Tom Whittington, building contractor made a presentation of a metal building. Ina recent work session council heard a presentation from L.M. Folsom, building contractor on a conventional type building. Comm. Lyle moved to employ Roberto Guedes at 5% of the total cost of the building as Architect, L.M. Folsom at 7% of total cost of building as Construction Supervisor, the City is to act as contractor and the total cost of the project is to be less than $100,000.00, seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. Mayor thanked Mr. Whittington for his time and effort and stated he was sure the city would be receptive to receiving a bill from him for at least a portion of his service. Comm. Lyle moved that city employees be given the Friday after Thanksgiving off, seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. Comm. Stinnett moved that the cost of turkies be looked into and that each regular city employee be given a certificate for a turkey for Thanksgiving, seconded Comm. Whitehead.
