HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 405 ~~~ .----- tfos- ORDINANCE No .~,.ryt:?6=- AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING AND ALLOCATING THE REVENUE OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING NOVHvlBER 1st, 1960, AND ENDING OCTOBER 31st, 196iL WHEREAS, the City Councilhas heretofore ascertained and determined that a sum of $111,139.25 is necessary to defray the operating ex- penses and retirements of refunding bonds and interest thereon for the fiscal year beginning November 1st, 1960, and ending October 31st, 1961; and WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore fixed the rate of taxation at 20 mills and levied said tax on the properties within the cor- porate limits of the City for the fiscal year beginning November 1st, 1960, and ending October 31st, 1961; and viliEREAS, it is anticipated that there will be available for use and disbursement revenue and funds from the following sources and in the following amounts: Ad Valorem tax Cigarette Tax Utility Tax Water Revenue Fines & Forfietures Licenses Miscellaneous Total ~27,320.37 , 15,975.00 14,(',63.61 39,236.00 9,429.00 2,563.00 1,752.27 ------.-.. $111,139.25 and, MIEREAS, the operating expenses, retirement of the City's Refunding Bonds and payment of interest thereon will be as follows: Police Department Street Department Clerk Salary Water Department Sanitation Department Power and Lights Fire Department. Office Expense Legal Expense and Auditing Telephone Service Insurance and Surety Bonds Bond Interest Bond Retirement Total $ 13,571.00 26,780.00 3,000.00 32,254.25 10,634.00 9,600.00 2,500.00 1,200.00 2,500.00 600.00 3,000.00 2,500.00 3,000.0~ $111,139.25 now therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY 'lHE CITY COUNCIL OP THE CITY OF OCOEE: Section 1. That the sum of $3,000.00 or such portion thereof as may be realized from the collection of anticipated revenue from the Ad Valorem tax be, and the same is hereby, appropriated and allo- cated to the Interest and Sinking Fund of said City for retirement of refunding bonds for the fiscal year beginning November 1st, 1960, and ending October 31st, 1961. Section 2. That the sum of $2,500.00 o:c such portion thereof as may be realized from the collection of anticipated revenue from the Ad Valorem tax be, and the same is hereby, appropriated and allo- cated to the Interest and Sinking Fund of said City for payment of interest 6n the refunding bonds for the fiscal year beginning November 1st, 1960, and ending October 31st, 1961. ~ Section 3. That the sum of $105,639.25 or such portion thereof as may be realized from the collection of anticipated revenue as above set forth be, and the same is hereby, appropriated and allocated to the general fund of said City for disbursem.nt of the operating ex- penses of said City in conformity to the provisions of the Charter of said City during the fiscal year beginning November 1st, 1960, and ending October 31st, 1961. Section 4. That the sum realized from the collection of Cigarette Tax Revenue be, and the same is hereby, appropriated and allocated for disbursement in accordance with the tenor and effect of Chapter 210, Florida Statues, during the fiscal year beginning November 1st, 1960, and ending October 31st, 1961. Section 5. Copies of this ordinance shall be posted as provided for by law and the Charter of the City of Ocoee. Section 6. This ordinance shall becom.effective immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor, or upon its otherwise becom- ing a law. Section 7. All ordinances and parts of ordinances 1n conflict here- with are hereby repealed. Section H. Should any portion of this ordinance be held invalid, then such portion as are not declared to be invalid shall remain in full force and effect.
