HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 324 - -"f' .~ ORDINANCE No. 3~Y- AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX UPON ALL TAY~BLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY 0:8' OCOEE, FLORIDA, F'OR THE TAX YEAH BEGINNING NOV:;SIvIBER 1, 1955, AND ENDING OCTOBER 31, 1956. WHEHEAS, the City tax assessor has heretofore pre,pared an assessment roll of all the taxable property of the City of ucoee, Florida, and the respective values thereof, and as far as practicable the owners thereor; and 1rJHEHEAS, the City assessment roll has been submitted to tho City COl.lDcil after due and proper notice to the property owners 'Hhose property has been increased, or corrected-as to the values, and sbeh other requirements of notice hav:i..ng been met; and vnmHEAS, a review and equalization of the assessment roll by the City Council has been concluded; and WHERGAS, a millage of 15 mills is necessary to produce a fund sul'ficient to defray the actual debt service pequh>ements of the C:i..ty of Oeoee, for the tax year which begins on November 1, 1955, and 'Hhich ends on Uctober 31, 1956; and WHEHEAS, a millage aI' :5 mills is neces sary to produse a fund sufficient to defray actual operating expenses of the City of Ueoee for the said tax year, now therefore, BE rf OHDAINED BY rfHE CITY COUNCIL OF TIm CITY OF' OCOEE: Section 1. rrhat a tax in the am.ount of 15 mills upon trIe dollaI' assessed valuation be, and it is hepeby, levied and assessed upon and against all PI'Op01'ty on the assessHwnt roll of the City of Ocoee, Ij'lorid8; that the pI'oceeds of such 15 nlills' shall be used solely and exclus:i..vely for the pa:)rment of ,interest and the retirement of the Refl.mding Bonds. Section 2. rrhat a ta.x in the amount of 5 mills upon the dollar assessed valuat:i..on be, and it is hereby, levied. and assessed upon and against all property on theassessment roll of the City of Ocoee, Florida, wh:i..ch is not exempt fromnunicipal taxation of the said City under and by virtue of the Constitution of the State of Florida, which shall be used to defray the actual operating expenses of the said City. Section 3. Copies of this Or'dinance shaLL be posted as provided for by law and the Charter of the City of ucoee. Section 2. That the sum of $23,693.00 dollars, or such portion theT'eof as may be realized froIn the collection of anticipated revenue as above set forth and the collection of tl'le ta.x of 5 mills levied as aforesaid, be, and the same is hereby, allocated and appropriated to the general fund of said Ci t.y for disbursement of tlw operating expenses of said City in conformity to the provisions of the Charter of said City during the tax collection year which begins on November 1, 1955, and which ends on October 31, 1956. Section 3.. That the sum realized from the collection of Cigarette '11ax Revenue be, and the sam.e is hereby, allocated and appropriated .for dis- bursement in accordance with the tenor and effect of Chapter 210, Florida statutes, during the tax collection year which begins on November 1, 1955, and which ends on October 31, 1956. Section 4. Copies of this Ordinance shall be posted as provided for by law and the Chartep of the City of (lcoee.
