HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 285 ~ ORDINANCE NatLY' ~ I ~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, ANNEXING .A CERTAIN TRACT OF UNINCORPORATED LAND LYING CONTIGUOUS TO THE MUNICIPAL BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF OCOEE AND SITUATED IN ORAl\JGE COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO-WIT: Lot 8, Block ~ of the Town of Ocoee as per plat thereof recorded in Plat Book tAli, Pages 100-101, Public Records of Orange County, Florida. WHEREAS, the above described uninoorpor.ated land is lying contiguous to the munioipal boundaries of the City of Oooee, Florida, and WHEREAS, said tract of land contains less than ten (10) registered voters, and ~~AS, said land is susoeptible of reoeiving municipal benefits of the City of Oooee, and WHEREAS, the City of Ocoee did on the 5thday of April, 1955, duly adopt an Ordinanoe deolaring its intent to annex the land desoribed hereinabove to its present municipal boundaries in acoordance with the provisions therefor in Section 67 of the Charter of the City of Ocoee, Chapter 10951, Special Acts, Florida r~gis1ature, 1925, and Seotion 171.04 Florida Statutes, and WHEREAS, said Ordinance was duly posted as presoribed by law upon said land and in said City of oooee for the period prescribed by law, and ~~REAS, no objection to said annexation has been filed in the Circuit Court of Orange County, Florida, now therefore, BE IT ORDAI}ffiD BY THE CITY COm~CIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE: Seotion 1. That the munioipal boundaries of the City of Oooee, Florida,' be, and they hereby are. extended to include the following described land lying and situated in Orange County, Florida, and, that said tract of land be, and it hereby is, annexed to the municipal territory of tho City of Oeoee, Florida, said land being more particularly described as follows: Lot 8, Block J, of the Town of Ocoee as per plat tlwreof recorded in Plat Book iTA", Page 100-101, Publie Records of Orange County, Florida. Section 2. That tho City of Ocoee shall and will from the effective date of this Ordinance exercise full power and authority over the land described in Sootion 1 hereof, in aocordance with the Charter of the City of Ocoee, Chapter 10951, Special Aots, Florida Legislature, 1925, and the General Laws of the State of Florida, as fully and completely as the City of Ocoee now exercises power, o.uthority and jurisdiction over othor lands within its municipal limits. Section 3. Copies of this Ordinance shall be posted as provided for by lo.w and tho Chartor of the City of Ocoeo. Section 4. This Ordinanoe shall beoome effective immediately upon its becoming a law. Section 5. All Ordinanoes and parts of Ordinances in oonflict herewith aro hereby repealed. Section 6. Should any portion of this Ordinance be held invalid, then such portions as are not declared to be invalid shall remain in full force and effeot.
