AN ORDINANCE OF TEE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, REGULATING JYJECHANCIAL
LOUD SPEAKERS, SOUND AMPLYFYING DEVICES OR OTI-IER INSTRUI1ENTS OR DE-
VICES WITHIN THE CITY IN SUCH A MAN}lliR OR WITH SUCH VOLUME.AS TO
ANNOY OR DISTURB THE QUIET, COMFORT OR REPOSE OF ANY INDIVIDUAL, AND
REQUIRING A PERMIT AND REGISTRATION BEFORE OPER~TING OR USING SUCH
:MECHANCIAL LOUD SPEAKERS, SOUND AMPLYFYING DEVICES OR OTHER INSTRU-
r-lliNTS OR DEVICES, AlilD PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ~nE CITY OF OCOEE:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful to play anyrad~o, phonograph or
any musical instrument, or operate any mechancial loud speakers,
sound amplyfying device or other instrmnent or devices within the
City in such a manner or with such volmue as to annoy or disttwb the
quiet, comfort or repose of any individual.
Section 2. It shall be unlawful for any person to make, create or
maintain any unreasonably loud, distrubing and unnecessary noise with-
in the City by operating n1echancial loud speakers, sound amplyfying
devices or other instruments or devices. Noise of such character,
intensity or duration as to 'be detrimental to the life, health, com-
fort, or repose of any individu.al.
Section 3. It shall be unlawful to create, make or maintain any noise
by use of any drum" loud speaker or other instrument or device in the
City for the purpose of attracting attention.

Section L+. It shall be unlawful to conduct or use any mechancial loud
speakers, sound amplyfying devices or otherinstruments or devices for
any purposes in the City except upon registration and under specific
license from the Clerk of the City.
Section 5. Any person, firm, corporation or association who shall vio-
late any of the prohibitions of this ordinance shall upon convi'ction
thereof be punished by fine. not to exceed One Hundred (~~lOO.OO) Dollars
or by imprisonment in the Qity Jail for a term not to exceed thirty (30)
days, or by both such fine. and impI':lsonment.
Section 6. .Copies of this Ordinance shall be posted as provided for by
law and the Charter of the Oi ty of Ocoee.
Section 7. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
becoming a law.
Section 8. All Ordinances and parts of OrdiDBnces in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 9. Should any portion of this Ordinance be held invalid, then
such portions as are not declared to be invalid shall remain in fu.ll
force and effect.
Done in open session, at Ocoee, Orange County, Florida, this 21st
day of June, 1955.
