PERSONS FROM S04[CITING VOTES FOR Tfl]}.fSEL~ OR OTHERS, AND TO PHDHIBI'l'~~ PlmsoNS FROM HOLDING THEMSEk~ OR ()~~"QU'T AS CANDIDATES FOR A CITY OFFICE nt-THE CITY OF ()COEE, FLORIDA, UNLESS SAID PERSON, FOR WHOM SAID VOTES ARE SOLICITED, OR WHOCHOLDS HIMSELF OUT, OR IS HELD OUT AS A CANDIDATE FOR AN OFFICE OF THE CITY OFOCOEE, HAS REGISTERED AND PAID A FEE IN THE MAN- \ NER PROVIDED IN ORDINANCE NO. 109 OF THE CITY OF ) OCOEE, FLORIDA. Whereas, the holding of General Elections in the City of Oe6ee, Florida, has caused a considerable expense to the City of Ocoee, Florida, and Whereas, by Ordinance No. 109 of the City of Ocoee, Florida, a method whereby persons desiring to run for public office must pay a fee and regis- ter with the Clerk, said fe~ being used to help defray expenses of' the General Elections in the City of Ocoee, Florida, and Whereas, it is deemed desirable ~ prohibit the soliciting of votes aa4 the holding of ones self, or another, aut as a Candidate for public l offie-e, unless said person or Candidate has registered in the manner provided , 1aOrdiDance No. 109, of the City of Ocoee, Florida, Now therefore BE IT OBDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: S~cm. 1. Irhat no person shall for himself', solicit votes for a.n:y CiV om... in the City of Ocoee, Flori~, unless said person shall have regis- ~ with the City C erk and paid the fee as prescribed in Ordinance '" Bo. 109 of the City of Ocoee, Florida. That no person shall solicit votes for another person for a.n:y Oit,u office in the City of Ocoee, Florida, unless such person for whom. said votes are solicited shall have previously registered and paid the fee as provided in Ordinance No. 109 of the CiV of Ocoee, Florida. Section 3. No person shall hold himself out as a Candidate for any City office in the City of Ocoee, fiorida, lmless said person shall have previously registerEfd and paid the fee as provided in Ordinance No. 109 of the City of Ocoee, Florida. Section 4. Any person violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be punished by a fine(']upon conviction, of not more than One Hundred Dollars or by :imprisonment for not more than thirf1y (30) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Section 6. Should any portion of this Ordinance be held invalid, then such portions as are not held to be invalid, shall remain in tull force and effect. Section 7. All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in. conflict herewith I are hereby to the extent of such conflict, 1'epea1ed. Section 8.
