HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 132 r I ~ AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY OF OCOEE TO ANNEX A CERTAIN TRACT OF UNINCORFORATED LAND LYING CONTIGUOUS TO THE MUNI- CIPAL BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF OCOEE AND SITUATED IN ORANGE CO~Y; FLORIDA, to-wit: Lots 20 and 21, Block 4 of the Town of Ocoee, according to plat there- of recorded in Plat Book "A", pages lOO-IOl, Public Records of Orange County, Florida.. ORDINANCE NO. 132 \ WHEREAS, the above described unincorporated land is lying contiguous to the municipal boundaries of the City of Ocoee, Florida, and WHEREAS, said tract of land contains less than ten (10) registered voters, and WHEREAS, the said land is susoeptible of receiving municipal benefits of the City of 000 ee, and WHEREAS, the City of Ocoee desires to annex the said land to its pre- sent municipal boundaries in accordance with t he provisions therefor in Section 67 of the C~arter of the City of Ocoee, Chapter 1095l, Special Acts, Florida ~gislature, 1925, and Section 171.04 Florida Statutes, now therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OCOEE: Section 1. The City of Ocoee hereby declares its intent to annex the following described unincorporated land lying contiguous to the muni- cipal boundaries of the City of Ocoee and situated in Orange County, Florida, to its present municipal boundaries, thereby extending its territorial limits to include the said land within said territorial limits and to exercise full power and authority over said land in ac- cordance with ~ he Charter of the City of Ocoee, Chapter l095l, Special Acts, Florida ~egislatureJ 1925, am the General Laws of the State of Florida, said land being more particularly described as follows: Lots 20 and 21, Block 4 of the Town ofOcoee, according to plat there- of reoorded in Plat Book "A", pages 100-101, Public Records of Orange County, Florida. Section 2. The City of Ocoee hereby declares its intent to enaot an Ordinance at its first regular meeting held after the next ensuing thirty (30) days from the effective date of this Ordinance, thereby ordaining that the said land described in Section 1 hereof be annexed to the territorial limits of the City of Ocoee, and ordaining that the territorial limits of the Oity of Ocoee be extended to include the said land as described herein, and ordaining that from and after the effective date of said Ordinance that the City of Ocoee shall exercise full power and authority over said land in accordance.th the Charter of the City of Ocoee, Chapter 10951, Special Acts, Florida LegiSlature, 1925, and the General Laws of the State of Florida. Section 3. Copies of this Ordinance shall be posted as provided for by law and the Charter of the City of Ocoee. Section 4. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately when passed by the City Council and approved by the Mayor. Section 5. All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 6. Should any portion of this Ordinance be held invalid, then such portions as are not declared to be invalid shall remain in full force and effeot.
