HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 1 \ ..~~..".,... r' i J '- ORDINANCE NO.1. AN ORDINANCE Presoribing the Form and RegulatlDt~ the pa.ssage of Ordinanoes by the Counoil of Town of Oooee.. Be it Ordained by the COuncil of the Town of Oooee~ Section 1. No Ordinance shall be passed by the Couno11 of the Town of Oooee unless there be at least three aldermen voting for the passage of said ordinance. Seotion 2. The enacting olause of each Ordinanoe shall be as follows; "Be it Ordained by the Couno il of the Town of Oooee." Section 3. Eaoh Ordinanoe shall show that it was passed by the Council in open session, and shall set out the date of passage. Seotion 4. Each Ordinanoe passed by the Council of the Town of Ocoee shall be signed by the President or president Pro Tem., and shall be attested by the Olerk who shall affix the corporate seal thereto. Section 5. Each Ordinanoe passed by the Council shall be submitted by the Clerk to the Mayor or person acting as suoh ,for his approval. Seotion 6. The reoord of prooeedings of Council shall show the passage of each Ordinance by its number and title, and the names of the aldermen voting for and those voting against, but it shall not be neoessary to set out the entU. Ordinance in the reoord; provided, however, that when the Mayor or person acting as suoh snall return an ordinanoe disapproved with his objeotions in writing, the same shall be entered in full upon the record of their prooeedings. Seotion 7. When the layor or person aoting as Sttch shall return an Ordinanoe disapproved with his objections in writing, at the next regular meet1ng of the Council after its passage, the Couno il shall prooeed to oons1der the Kayor' s ob j ections \ and to aot upon the, 8&1D8. If, upon oonsideration, the Counoil , shall pass the same,' by a two-thirds vote of the members present,j which vote Shall be entered upon the records, the Ordinanoe shal~ then beoome & law. Any Ordinance whioh shall not be returned to \ the Counoil at the next regular meeting of the Counoil after its passage, shall become a law in like manner as if signed by the I Kayor or person acting as suoh. I section 8. The Clerk shall keep, in consecutive order, I in a book provided for that purpose, all ordinano es enaoted I ',n the Counoil. I , ..t1on 9.
