Subject: Change Order No. 1 to Sorenson Fields Fence Replacement Project.
Background Summary:
The replacement of the chainlink fence on the two baseball fields at Sorenson Fields has been completed.
During the course of construction, it was necessary to alter various quantities in order to complete the work.
The major changes identified were:
1. Increase the number of number of 14-foot wide drive-thru gates by one in order to provide full access to
both fields by aerial boom trucks for light fixture maintenance.
2. Add one (1) double-gate center drop rod for the additional gate noted above.
3. Add one 2.5-inch post to extend the 12-foot fencing at one dugout to the full required length.
4. Add two 4-inch backstop posts in order to avoid a conflict with underground utilities that could not be
moved.
5. Add 32 hours of direct labor to compensate Contractor for a greater amount of fence height adjustment
than was included in the original proposal.
6. Add four (4) truss rods for extra fence bracing.
7. Increase the number of fence line posts replaced by 38.
8. Add two short sections of 6-foot fencing at Field 2 dugouts.
The prices in the change order were determined by mutual agreement of the parties or contract unit prices. The
City Engineering Department and the Parks and Recreation Department have reviewed the price proposal
submitted by the contractor.
