SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF OCOEE HELD 28 FEB. 1978

Mayor Breeze called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. Present were Comm.
Crawford, Lyle, Stinnett and Whitehead; City Manager, Vignetti; City
Attorney, Rhodes; and City Clerk, Gann.
PROGRESS REPORT - "701" COMPREHENSIVE PLAN - ZONING BOARD
Ray Lait, Zoning Board member stated to council that all information and
material for existing land use has been gathered but needs to be physically
put together, also citizen input is needed. All nine Zoning Board Members
were present. Zoning Board and Council agreed that Mr.Lait would draft a
letter to be sent to all Sleepy Harbor residents informing them of a
meeting to be held for citizen input for the "701" Comprehensive Plan. If
this meeting is successful other meetings will be held for different areas
of the city.
RENTAL OF OLD FIRE STATION BUILDING
Comm. Crawford moved to rent the downstairs of the old fire station building
to Larry Chestney for ninety days at $150.00 per month with Mr. Chestney
being responsible for his utilities and liability insurance, seconded
Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous.
AUTHORIZATION TO PAY FOR MAGUIRE ROAD PAVING PROJECT = $27,723.92
Comm. Whitehead moved to pay $16,371.92 from Street Dept. acct#7048 and
$11,352. from Anti-Recession Funds for a total of $27,723.92, seconded
Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous.
UPDATE FIVE YEAR COUNTY ROAD PROGRAM
Comm. Whitehead moved to submit the following (1) Bowness Road, (2)Center
Street,(3) Kissimmee Avenue, (4) SR 439 to intersection Sr 437, and
(5) Marshall Farms Road, seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous.
SIDEWALK PROGRAM
Council agreed to construct four foot sidewalks in the following locations
for a contract price of $1.05 per linear foot:
a. Lady Avenue/Ursula Street to Wurst Road on east side.
b. From Lady Ave. on north side Wurst Road to Spring Lake Circle
(into the school)
c. South side Kimball Street from Russell Street to Wurst Road.
d. Russell Street - South to Malcolm Street to Flewelling Street on
east side.
Council directed the City Manager to inform all residents in above areas
that sidewalks are going to be constructed and if they have fences, etc.
in the way they will have to remove them.

CENTRAL FLORIDA ZOO DAY
Mayor stated that the Board of County Commissioners had declared 2 April 78
as Central Florida Zoo Day and all Orange County residents will be
admitted free on this day.
