HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-17-1978 MINUTES OF THE CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF THE CITY OF OCOEE HELD 17 OCTOBER 78 I I II Mayor Breeze called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and the meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Present were Comm. Lyle, Stinnett and Whitehead; City Manager, Vignetti; City Attorney, Rhodes; and City Clerk, Gann. Comm. Crawford was absent. 3 OCTOBER 78 COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES Comm. Whitehead moved to accept the minutes as presented, seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. ZONING BOARD MEETING MINUTES OF 10 OCTOBER 78 Zoning Board minutes were read into the record for information only. VICTORY BAPTIST MISSION - WATER REQUEST City Manager stated this property had been annexed into the City in May and now the church was requesting water service. City Manager proposed putting in a 10" line and when the remaining five (5) (3 of 8 already annexed) property owners request annexation the cost be divided equally between the eight (8) property owners. A utility easement and/or a dedicated street is needed before a water line can be installed. Comm.Lyle moved to table until the City Attorney and Attorney for the property owners could work out a solution, seconded Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous. AMERICAN POWER BOAT ASSOCIATION - FRED TOWNSEND Mr. Townsend requested permission from council to use Starke Lake for one week in August 79 to hold the National Boat Races and also for one week- end in March 79. Comm Lyle moved to grant permission for the use of the lake for two days in March 79, seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. MAYOR/COMMISSIONERS/CITY MANAGER REPORTS AND INFORMATION City Manager stated the Canvassing Board would meet at 12:00 Noon on 8 November 78 to certify the results of the City Election. The Canvassing Board will be the present members of the City Commission. Comm. Lyle moved to give the insurance money plus any earned interest to Mrs. Sam Oliver, seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. City Manager stated that Sam Oliver was buried in the wrong spot and he recommended that the city bear the expense to move his body at the time of Mrs. Olivers death. Comm. Lyle moved to approve City Managers recommendation, seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. City Manager gave final Budget Review for FY 77/78.
