A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA,
AMENDING EXHmIT "A" OF RESOLUTION NOo 91-10
ADOPTING AND APPROVING JOB DESCRIPTIONS
SETTING FORTH THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
OF EMPLOYMENT POSITIONS BY ADDING A JOB
DESCRIPTION SETTING FORTH THE DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES OF EMPLOYMENT POSITION FOR A
STREETS AND DRAINAGE INSPECTOR; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DA TEo
WHEREAS, on May 7, 1991, in Resolution 91-10, the City Commission of the
City of Ocoee approved and adopted job descriptions for all of the employment positions in the
the general administration of the City of Ocoee; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Ocoee desires to adopt and
approve an additional job description for the duties of a Streets and Drainage Inspector; and
WHEREAS, a job description setting forth the duties and responsibilities for
Streets and Drainage Inspector has been reviewed and approved by the City Commission;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. Authority. The City Commission of the City of Ocoee, Florida
has the authority to adopt this Resolution pursuant to Article VIII of the Constitution of the State
of Florida and Chapter 166, Florida Statutes.
Section 2. Adoption of Job Description for Streets and Drainage
Inspector 0 The City Commission hereby adopts and approves the job description for Streets and
Drainage Inspector as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and by this reference made a
part hereof, and except as set forth herein, Resolution No. 91-10 shall remain unchanged and
in full force and effect.

Section 4. Severability. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase
or portion of this Resolution is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of
competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent
provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion hereto.
Section 5.
Effective Date.
This Resolution shall become effective

STREETS & DRAINAGE INSPECTOR
.
MAJOR FUNCTION
This is highly responsible administrative and inspection work in
the construction and repair of city streets, drainage facilities
and sidewalks. The work is performed with latitude for independent
judgment and action working within departmental procedures and
regulations under the general direction of the City Engineer
through evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of
operations and by consultation.
ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES
Inspects the construction, repair and maintenance of new and/or
existing streets, sidewalks, street appurtenances, and storm
drainage facilities. Enforces standards, rules, and regulations
for the various activities. Prepares estimates of construction
costs. Interviews workers in charge of the various phases of the
proj ect . Inspects the various proj ects in progress and makes
recommendations for changes in practices. Requires the use and
exercise of independent judgment. Reads and checks blueprints for
accuracy in related construction projects. Attends meetings and
keeps necessary records. Prepares reports as required.
Performs other assigned duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledqe, Abilities, and Skills

Considerable knowledge of modern road and storm sewer construction
and maintenance methods. Considerable knowledge of the use and
maintenance of modern road construction equipment, machinery,
tools, etc. Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices
of civil engineering related to street construction, drainage, and
related maintenance. Thorough knowledge of the equipment and
materials used in construction and maintenance of public works
projects. Considerable knowledge of the applicable work safety
rules and procedures utilized in public works construction and
maintenance projects. Considerable knowledge of the principles and
practices of administrative and supervisory management. Ability to
prepare reports, estimates, and to express oneself clearly and
concisely. Ability to develop working plans and coordinate all
street and drainage related activities. Ability to establish and
maintain effective working relations with subordinates, peers,
superiors, contractors, and the general public.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Continued
Minimum Traininq and EXDerience
Graduation from High School and five years of progressively
responsible construction inspection experience in public works
projects and at least three years of experience in a responsible
supervisory capacitYi or an equivalent combination of training and
experience. Some college engineering courses a plus.
Necessary SDecial Requirements
Possession of an acceptable Florida driver's license.
