Mr. Robert Harrell, Chairman
Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority
525 S. Magnolia Avenue

Dear Mr. Harrell,
Congratulations on your appointment as Chairman of the Authority
and best wishes to you in your new venture.
Those of us who live on the west side of Orlando and have occasion
to travel to the east side frequently have longed for the
completion of the East/West Expressway, and now that it is here,
most of us cannot afford to travel on it due to the high tolls. On
December 18, 1990, because many of our citizens share in this
concern, our Board of City Commissioners adopted a resolution
expressing those feelings and a copy of that resolution is
enclosed for your consideration.
I'm no mathematician, but I do travel the Parkway frequently and
I notice that I can go all the way to Wildwood for $1.20 and it
takes more than that to get from Ocoee just to Orlando on the
Expressway. I'm sure that in someone's mind the difference in cost
per mile of travel is justified, but I don't understand. I know
that you will have a multitude of things to do in your new
position...please let one of them be the consideration of reduced
tolls for the use of the East/West Expressway.
