A RESOLUTION AMENDING ORDINANCE
#638, OF THE CITY OF OCOEE,FLORIDA,
WHICH REGULATES AND CONTROLS ELEC-
TRICAL CONTRACTORS AND ELECTRICAL
CONSTRUCTION, BY CHANGING THE STAN-
DARDS ADOPTED FROM THOSE OF THE
NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, NFPA
#70-1975, TO THOSE OF THE NATIONAL
ELECTRICAL CODE, NFPA #70-1978,
AND FROM THOSE OF NOTICE E, FLORIDA
ELECTRICAL CODE, TO THOSE OF NOTICE
F, FLORIDA ELECTRICAL CODE, AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of City Commissioners of the City of
Ocoee, Florida, as follows:
Section 1. That Section Thirty Nine of Ordinance #638 be
amended to read as follows:
"SECTION THIRTY NINE. Standards Adopted to the extent
not more permissive than this ordinance, there is
hereby adopted by the City for the purpose of estab-
lishing and prescribing rules and regulations for
electrical construction, maintenance, and repair
within the city those certain standards known as:
(a) National Electrical Code, NFPA #70-1978.
(b) Underwriter Laboratories, Inc."Standards
for Safety, Electrical Lighting Fixtures, and
Portable Lamps,"UL 57-1969 and Ul 153-1970;
(c) Underwriters' Laboratories, Inc.,"Standards
for Electric Signs," Ul 48-1966;
(d) The regulations of the division of hotels
and restaurants of the department of business
regulation, applicable to emergency lighting,
S590.21l (6) (g) and 509.211 (7);
(e) NFPA #56A-197l,"Inhalation Anesthetics Code,"
(f) NFPA #56B-1968, "Inhalation Therapy;"
(g) NFPA #56C-1970, "Hospital Laboratories;"
(h) NFPA #56D-1970, "Hyperbaric Facilities;"
(i) NFPA #56F-1970, "Nonflammable Medical Gas
Systems;"

(j) Chapter 10 D-29 of the rules and regulations
of the division of heAlth of the department of
health and rehabilitative services entitled "Nursing
Homes and Related Facilities Licensure;"
(k) The minimum standards for grounding of portable
electric equipment, chapter 8AS-2 as recommended
by the Industrial Safety Section, Bureau of
Workmen's Compensation, Division of Labor and
Employment Opportunities, Department of Commerce;
(1) "Essential Electrical Systems for Hospitals,"
NFPA #76A-197l; and
(m) Notice F, Florida Electrical Code; provided,
however, that with the exception of conductors for
residential and commercial services and panel
feeders, aluminium wire conductors shall not be
installed and used in any residential, commercial,
or other structure hereafter altered, built,
constructed,erected,or repaired in, or moved into
the incorporated areas of the City of Ocoee."

Section 2. That this resolution shall be effective
immediately upon passage by the Board of City Commissioners of
the City of Ocoee, Florida.
Done and Resolved at the regular meeting of the Board of
City Commissioners held on May 6, 1980.
