RESOLUTION NO. B ~ / /
WHEREAS, Orlando City Commissioner Glenda E. Hood has unselfishly served
the Orlando and Central Florida area for many years through participation
in numerous civic, cultural and governmental activities; and,
WHEREAS, Commissioner Glenda E. Hood has held office in and served on the
Board of Directors of myriad organizations, committees, and task forces; and,
WHEREAS, Commissioner Glenda E. Hood has served the Florida League of
Cities and its member municipalities in diverse assignements, including ser-
ving on the League's Board of Directors since January 1983; Chairman of
Florida's Future: Quality Cities' Task Force where she led a diligent move-
ment in defeating Amendment I last year and is presently implementing the
use of public television as a vehicle to inform the public of key issues, and
a Citizens Information Survey to assess citizens attitudes toward government;
and,
WHEREAS, the First Vice President position will be for election at the
1985 Annual Covention of the Florida League of Cities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Ocoee, Florida, that based,
upon the premises set forth above, the City Commission of the City of Ocoee
does hereby endorse the candidacy of Commissioner Glenda E. Hood for the
First Vice Presidency of the Florida League of Cities and strongly urges
the membership of the Florida League of Cities to elect Commissioner Glenda
E. Hood as its First Vice President at the 1985 Annual Convention.
