WHEREAS, the Ocoee City Board of Commissioners and the advi-
sory panel of the Ocoee Planning and Zoning Board have discussed
on repeated occasions their desire to make known the future extent
of the future boundaries of the City of Ocoee; and,
WHEREAS, these Boards feel it is in the best interest of the
City to make their intentions known in order to so take City and
County planning; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission of the City
of Ocoee to plan ahead such that expansions to the City of Ocoee
are not paid for by those citizens that are already living in the
City of Ocoee but are rather, paid for by those incoming citizens
that are generating the additional expense; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Ocoee is highly desirous of complying
with and working under the policies set forth in Florida State
Statute #163.3171, the introduction section of the "Our Communi-
ties" Chapter of the Florida State Plan, and the Orange County
Growth Management Policy; goals of Chapter VI, Residential Land
Use Section, and the City of Ocoee Section.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of City Commis-
sioners of the City of Ocoee, Florida that it is the intention of
the City of Ocoee, Florida to annex all of the lands not currently
a part of the City of Ocoee boundary in the sections delineated
below. All of these sections being within Township 22 South, Ran-
ge 28 East, Section 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21,
22, 28, 29, 30, 31 and 32.
Additionally the City intends to annex the Southern Quarter
of Section 5, Township 22 South, Range 28 East.
It is not the intention of the City Board of Commissioners
of the City of Ocoee, Florida to annex these properties by invol-
untary annexation nor is it the intent of the City Commission to
do so through some form of referendum rather the City of Ocoee in-
tends to continue their program of voluntary annexation by prop-
erty owners when requested by those property owners and said prop-
erty owners can comply with the State Statutes relative to annex-
ation.
The City Board of Commissioners merely want to advise the
property owners in these outlying areas as well as Orange County
that the City is interested in annexing these properties if the
conditions and circumstances are right.
