RESOLUTION NO. 2009-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA,
REGARDING SPECIFIC APPROPRIATION 471 IN FLORIDA
SENATE BILL 2600 REGARDING PASSIVE ST A TEGIES
FOR NITROGEN REDUCTION, AND URGING GOVERNOR
CHARLIE CRIST TO INCLUDE THIS SPECIAL
APPROPRATION 471 IN THE 2009-2010 FLORIDA BUDGET
WHEREAS, the study on recommendations on passive strategies for nitrogen
reduction that complement use of conventional on-site wastewater treatment systems is
yet to be completed; and
WHEREAS, completion of the study is crucial in protecting the Wekiva River
and its contributing springs and potentially all environmental area of concern throughout
the state of Florida; and
WHEREAS, the state of Florida budget for the upcoming fiscal year (FY 2009-
20 I 0) allows for the completion of the study with already existing funding designated for
this study from the current fiscal year in specific appropriation line item 471; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of
Ocoee, Florida that the Mayor and City Commissioners implore Governor Crist to allow
specific appropriation of line item 471 to remain in the Florida Budget for fiscal year
2009-20 I O. This resolution shall take affect on the date of its adoption.
