Background Summary: The interior renovation of the new Police Headquarters requires the installation of delayed egress emergency doors in the secured holding area and sally port. These emergency exit doors open after a fifteen (15) second delay in order to ensure that an incarcerated individual is not attempting to exit the building without proper authorization. These devices were added to the door hardware plans through a revision without being included in the security access control plans. The purpose of this request is to issue a purchase order for the delayed egress devices and sensors to allow the emergency doors to function properly. Issue: Staff requests award of the new delayed egress door devices to Qualified Systems Contracting, Inc. Recommendations Recommend issue a purchase order for the two (2) delayed egress door devices to Qualified Systems Contracting, Inc. in the amount of $3,230.00 in order to permit emergency egress from secured areas.
