HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 89-11 ORDINANCE NO. 89-11 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA AMENDING SECTION 2 IN ORDINANCE NO. 845, BY INCREASING THE 'CUT-ON' FEE AND PROVIDING FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE FOR SERVICE RENDERED AFTER REGULAR WORKING HOURS, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. . WHEREAS, interested in manner; and the City of Ocoee Board of Commissioners is most serving the citizens of Ocoee in a cost efficient WHEREAS, there are citizens who neglect to pay the water bill before the cut-off date, causing additional administrative duties for the utility billing staff and water technicians; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has determined that the cost of extra service to a citizen should be borne by that citizen rather than all the citizens in the City of Ocoee; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 845 is hereby amended to read as follows: The billing periods for the Ocoee Water Department will change from a quarterly billing to a monthly billing. Customers will continue to have fifteen (15) days from the date of the water bill to make payment, thereafter, the water services to that address will be discontinued until such time as payment is received To reestablish service that has bee~ discontinued under this section, a twenty dollar ($20.00) cut on fee will be assessed if the cut on is during normal work hours and thirty dollars ($30.00) for after work hours. SECTION 2. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this Ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion hereto. SECTION 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its final passage and adoption.
