AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OCOEE,
FLORIDA, RELATING TO SPECIFIC DISTRICT
REGULATIONS, RELATING TO RURAL COUNTRY
ESTATES DISTRICTS: ADOPTING A NEW SECTION
2A OF CHAPTER IV OF APPENDIX A OF THE
CODE, RELATING TO RURAL COUNTRY ESTATES
DISTRICTS: ESTABLISHING THE PURPOSE AND
SCOPE OF THE DISTRICTS: ESTABLISHING THE
STANDARDS FOR RURAL COUNTRY ESTATES
DISTRICTS: PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Section 2A. RCE-1 and RCE-2 Rural Country Estates Districts.
2A.1 General description. This district is intended to provide
a location for the land situated on the fringe of the urban area
that is used primarily for residential purposes, but will allow
secondary agricultural uses. Many tracts in this district will
be in close proximity to higher density residential and
commercial uses. Therefore, the agricultural activities
conducted in this district should not be detrimental to urban
land uses. It is intended that this district provide a location
for a lower density of residential development than is authorized
in other districts. The types of uses, required area and
intensity of use of land which is permitted in this district is
designed to allow agricultural uses so long as the land therein
is devoted primarily to single family residences.
2A.2 Uses permitted.

(1) Single-family dwelling.
(2) Church and attendant educational and recreational facili-
ties.
(3) Public school or school offering general educational courses
the same as ordinarily given in the public schools and
having no rooms regularly used for housing or sleeping.
(4) All of the following uses:
Country club and golf course;
Home occupation;
Library;
Park or playground or public recreation area;

(5) Private marina, stable, boat dock or other private outdoor
recreation activity.
(6) Raising of cows and horses provided the densities shall not
exceed one animal per acre.
(7) Accessory buildings which are not a part of the main
building, including barns, sheds, private garages and
accessory buildings which are a part of the main building.
2A.3 Special exceptions. The following uses may be permitted
as special exceptions by the board of adjustment in accordance
with procedures described in Chapter II, section 3.5:
(1) Cemetery, crematory or mausoleum.
(2) Hospital, sanatorium or nursing homes.

2A.4 General requirements.

(2) Coverage. Main and accessory buildings shall not cover more
than forty (40) per cent of the total lot area.
(3) Height restrictions. No building shall exceed two and one-
half (2-1/2) stories or thirty-five (35) feet in height,
except as provided in Chapter III, section 4.
(4) Lot size. No lot shall be less than one acre in

hundred (1,800) square feet and two thousand (2,000)
feet in the RCE-2 District.
2A.5 Parking and loading. Minimum parking and loading
requirements are established in Chapter III, section 9.
2A.6 Signs. Minimum requirements for signs are established in
Chapter III, section 10.
2A.7 Effective Date. This Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon passage and adoption.
