AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OCOEE,
FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 10 OF
CHAPTER III OF APPENDIX A OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF OCOEE,
FLORIDA, LIMITING THE HEIGHT OF
SIGNS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
CONFLICTS; AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, the City of Ocoee has determined that the
height of signs should be limited in order to maintain the
esthetic integrity of the community, to promote equitable
advertising standards, and to promote the general safety and
welfare of the public.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Ocoee has
the authority to adopt this Ordinance pursuant to Chapter 166 of
the Florida Statutes.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY
OF OCOEE, FLORIDA THAT:
SECTION 1. Chapter III, Section 10, Subsection 10.8,
of Appendix A of the Code of Ordinances, City of Ocoee, Florida,
the title is hereby amended to read as follows:
10.8 - Signs in P-S Professional Offices
and Services District, C-l Neighborhood
Shopping District, C-2 Community
Commercial District.
SECTION 2. Chapter III, Section 10, Subsection 10.8,
Paragraph (1) of Appendix A of the Code of Ordinances, City of
Ocoee, Florida, is hereby amended to read as follows:
(1) For a shopping center, or any other
multi-tenant commercial complex, one
sign with one square foot of surface
area for each two (2) feet of lot
adjacent to a street for the purpose of
general identification of the premises
and for identification of establishments
in the center by name and nature. Such
sign, if a ground or pylon sign, shall
not exceed fifteen (15) feet in height
in the P-S District, twenty (20) feet in
height in the C-l District, and
twenty-five (25) feet in height in the
C-2 District. This sign shall not count
against the formula allocation of (6)
(a) below for individual establishments
in the center.
. SECTION 3. Chapter III, Section 10, Subsection 10.8,
Paragraph (2) of Appendix A of the Code of Ordinances, City of
Ocoee, Florida, is hereby amended to read as follows:
(2) Wall, ground, pylon or projecting
signs to advertise services or sales of
products on the premises, providing no
sign shall project more than three (3)
feet from the building wall, and no
wall, ground, pylon, or projecting signs
shall exceed fifteen (15) feet in height
above ground level in the P-S District,
twenty (20) feet in height in the C-l
District, and twenty-five (25) feet in
height in the C-2 District.

SECTION 4. Chapter III, Section 10, Subsection 10.9,
Paragraph (1) of Appendix A of the Code of Ordinances, City of
Ocoee, Florida, is hereby amended to read as follows:
(1) Shopping center and/or any other
multi-tenant commercial complex signs,
as for Section 10.8(1).
SECTION 5. Chapter III, Section 10, Subsection 10.9,
Paragraph (2) of Appendix A of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Ocoee, Florida, is hereby amended to read as follows:
(2) Wall, ground, roof, pylon or
projecting signs to advertise services
or sales of products on the premises,
provided no sign shall project more than
four (4) feet from the building wall,
and no wall, ground, roof, pylon or
projecting signs shall exceed
twenty-five (25) feet in height above
ground level.
SECTION 6. If any section or portion of this Ordinance
proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional, it shall not
be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force or effect of
any section or portion of a section or subsection or part of this
Ordinance.
SECTION 7. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 8. This Ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its final passage and adoption.
