HomeMy WebLinkAboutProclamation - Architecture Month Proclamation 'W~€iUeD, ~rchitecture influences the daily lives of all Ocoee residents through the definition and enhancement of the area in which we work, play and live; and 'W~elt€D, ~ast, present, and future Ocoee are of great concern to all of us and continued growth and planned development play an important role in the economy and our present and future quality of life; and 'W~€lt€D, ~rchitects in Ocoee are entrusted to protect public health, safety and welfare through their concern for and understanding of such important issues as growth management, accessibility for people with disabilities, historic preservation, energy consumption, housing for the homeless, as well as sensitivity to the relationship between nature and the built environment; and 'W~€i\€D, ecoee architects have been recognized as forerunners ofarchitectural design in Florida and the United States and have helped create unique visual character for this community through innovative and responsive designs for public and private spaces; and 'W~€l\.€D, 1lthe American Institute of Architects Orlando Chapter and its members have worked diligently to serve the public interest and demonstrated their commitment by contributing to our community through volunteer efforts including developing and redeveloping neighborhoods and designing educational tools for an enhanced appreciation of the built environment and preservation of the architectural heritage of our communities; and 'W~€i\€D, 1lthe American Institute of Architects Orlando Chapter celebrates 54 years of architecture in Orlando; 1t<<- 7~, I, S. Scott Vandergrift, Mayor of the City of Ocoee, do hereby proclaim October 2009 as ARCHITECTURE MONTH in the City of Ocoee, IN WITNESS WHEROF, I hereunto have Set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Ocoee, Florida to be affixed this 15th day of September, 2009.
