HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-22-2009 Minutes MINUTES OF THE CITY OF OCOEE CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD MEETING SEPTEMBER 22, 2009 CALL TO ORDER Chairman Godek called the regular meeting of the Ocoee Code Enforcement Board to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Commission Chambers at City Hall. Member Hopper led the Invocation and Member Lowery led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. The roll was called and a quorum was declared present. PRESENT: Chairman Godek, Vice Chair M. Godek, Members Elliott, Hopper, Lowery, and Alternate Member Osborne. Also present were Code Enforcement Officer Loeffler, Code Enforcement Officer Delgado, Code Enforcement Officer Rodriguez, Code Enforcement Officer Siegrist, Division Chief Stanley, Fire Inspector Sorenson, Administrative Assistant Ballard, Attorney Sneed, and Deputy City Clerk Sibbitt. She further stated this is a repeat violator and, as of today, the property is in non-compliance. Lee Najjar, property owner, stated that the person he had maintaining the land had gotten ill and he just needs more time to correct the problem. He further stated he just returned from overseas this week and went right away to speak with Officer Rodriguez and Butch Stanley about getting an extension. Member Lowery inquired if they could be in compliance by the end of the week. Mr. Najjar stated he could be in compliance by next week. Member Hopper stated he understands that he was overseas but ultimately he is responsible for the property and needs to have someone maintain the property. Vice Chair M. COMMENTS Member Hopper announced he is a new grandfather to a new baby girl. He further stated he noticed that everyone presented their cases very well tonight and he really appreciates that because it makes it a lot easier for them. Member Lowery stated he agrees with Member Hopper on their great job. Chairman Godek announced that the Ocoee Firefighters won the Local Firefighters' Challenge and will be on there way to Las Vegas for the Finals.
