FLORIDA LAKES SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
STEERING COMMITTEE
PROPOSAL
We, the Florida Lakes Orchestra Steering Committee, want this spectacular upcoming
event to be an ongoing one and not a one time deal! This event is offering a phenomenal
cultural event for all the citizens of Ocoee.
We have repeatedly asked the community for their support via letters, phone calls,
emails and personal visits to either purchase tickets or participate in the sponsorship
program.
We are working diligently to keep the ticket prices down to $10.00 per person instead of
the usual $45.00. We would like for people, such as students, parents, seniors, etc.,
within the community to be able to attend regardless of their income level.
We chose this program, "Heartland America", to expose the community to the fact that
symphonies are not all "high brow". The patriotic program was chosen due to the
national situation and to prove that Ocoee is standing united. "Heartland America" is all
about standing united for small town charm and world class music.
We know of no other community that symbolizes the title of this symphony more than
Ocoee - "Heartland America".
We are asking for your support in the amount of $7,000.00, of which approximately
$2,000.00 is to be given back to Ocoee High School for their involvement in this event.
Any monies above our expenses will go back to the City. These expenses may total
$500.00.
Thank you very much for your consideration.
We'll see you at the Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra at 7:00 PM on Saturday,
February 20, 2010!
