Meeting called to order by H. M. Bowness. Minutes of last
meeting read and approved.
First on the agenda: Public hearing on petition for green-
house hobby on Maynard Byrd's property located on Cardinal
Street.
Maynard Byrd was asked to bring petition before board. He
requested that board grant him permission to put a fiberglass
greenhouse on his property for a hobby. Measurements for the
greenhouse are 26 feet wide and 42 ft. long. Depth of the sides
are 6i feet and from the top is 9i feet.
Mr. Bowness asked if there were any objections. Ruth Woods
objected to the size of the greenhouse. She said that it
was too large for a hobby.
Mr. Byrd asked what the requirements were Cardinal Street
is zoned Triple .A R -1.
Jerry Kennedy asked how Maynard Byrd had it situated on his lot.
Mr. Byrd drew a sketch on the greenhouse plans. Jerry Kennedy
stated that it is required to be 35 feet fvom the back of his
property. The greenhouse is planned for 7i feet from the back.
W. H. Wurst stated that from the view of the ordinance it
wasn't permissable.
Ed Brooklyn asked how it would be staked to the ground. Mr.
Byrd stated that four treated posts would hold greenhouse and
that it could easily be taken up.
Mr. Bowness asked Maynard Byrd to let board study the ordinances
and give him an answer at a later date. H. M. Bowness told
Mr. Byrd would be notified in two weeks about the board de-
cision.
Mr. and Mrs. Pedrick were present to meet with adjustment
board. No members were notified of a meeting.
Jerry Kennedy made a motion to select Bill Breeze for temporary
chairman of adjustment board and that Peggy Scroggins notify
him that an immediate problem has arisen. Seconded by B. E.
Stovall. Motion carried unanimously.

Board discussed further on Maynard Byrd's greenhouse.
The opinion was unanimous that the zoning board could not
bend the rules of the ordinance to let Mr. Byrd build a green-
house on his property.
H.M. Bowness brought a request before ;the board to ask the
city council to leave the brick road leading to the cemetery as
a history marker for the city of Ocoee. Board was unanimous
in their decision to request the council to leave this brick road
to the cemetery just as it is for a history marker.
Board discussed the fact that they needed to have the 6ity
manager and the building inspector at their meetings so that
they could get together on the rules and regulations of the
zoning ordinances.
Jerry Kennedy said he would seek legal advise from the city
attorney about certain qualifications on companies seeking
re- zoning.
W. H. Wurst made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Jerry
Kennedy. Motion carried.
