HomeMy WebLinkAboutPZ 10-10-1972 MINUTES OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING OF OCTOBER 10, 1972. MEMBERS PRESENT: W.H. Wurst, Ed Brooklyn, H.M. Bowness, Carmon Hamby Meeting was called to order at 7 :08 P.M. by the chairman Mr. Bowness., 1. Mrs, Hazel Griffith was first on the agenda. Mr. Bowness read her petition on rezoning her property to R -3 from R -1AA. She has 9 acres broken up into 22 lots. She showed plans for the duplexes she wanted to have built. Mrs. Wheeler, Mr. West, Mrs. Grafton, Tiger Minor all objected. They didn't want duplexes. They felt since she was selling the land they would have no prptection against bad usage of the property once it was out of her hands. They said they had no objections to her sell- ing the land for homes. Mr. Bowness asked for objections from the floor. There were 12 against and none for it. Mr. Wurst made the motion to deny her rezoning and it was seconded by Mr. Brooklyn. It was a unanimus vote. 2. Red Folsom came up to explain his property. Mr. L.R. McRobert objected wntil he realized that the lots would be rezoned R -1AA but the houses would still be R -1AAA. Mr. Hamby made the motion to accept the rezoning, seconded by 1 r. Wurst. There were no objections. im 3. Mrs. Womack came asking to put a temporary mobile home on lot 12 Block C in a residential area. She was told to make an application for a temporary permit which could be renewed every 120 days. This motion was made by Mr. Hamby and seconded by Mr. Brooklyn. 4. 0.A. Savage came requesting a bariance to build a boat house. Mr. Brooklyn made the motion that he file an application and it was seconded by Mr. Hamby: 5. R. Wilson came'requesting a directive on a 10 -12 bed dormitory to be built inside the trucking terminal at West Orange ' Park. This subject was brought up before the council and the city attorney and was approved by both. Mr. Wurst made motion to pass it, seconded by Mr. Brooklyn. 6, Mr. Bowness brought up the subject of lvir. Vaughn's property. A public hearing was set for Nov. 14. 7. wanted put a miler ° in M 8 s 2- 1 I ' -2- area. Motion was made to go ahead if regulations per- mitted and for her to file for a petition.
