Thn reetinn nf the Planning and Zoninn Board was called to order by
"+"'r. r at 7:05 P. m. attorney Caldwell Was present.
1. H. R. Ross - Public Hearing
H. A. Ross came before the board with his request in change nf
7nni from C -1 to R -3. "r. Ross nrnsented hic glans for
apartments hefors the hoard. The clans consist of twelve
buildings, all hlock construction. Attorney Caldwell nronnsed
fn' ^sn units per density. A hrief discussion followed nn the
size, rental, fees, uti1itin , traffic,, etc. involved. There
mere no nuhlic objections to the change. £?lr. Jurst made a motion,
secon;dnd hy Fr. Stovall `.o recommend the chennn 1 ;o the council.
motion carried. No nays.
2. A renresentati_ve of Kent Tyus came before the board for a decision
on his netiti_on for rezoning. There was a question on the setback
renuirements of the road. Attorney Caldwell is working on the
rnunh draft for the road. Following a brief discussion on the
subject, Mr. F!lc-oherts made a motion to nrant the netitinn to
let Cent Tyus' nronerty stand in the zoning given in 1969.
C:lenn Thomas s=econded the motion. motion carried. No nays.
Pr. PcRoherts suogested a work session in the near future; fnr
plans on the road. [r. Lait made a motion to change the setback
requirements on Uhite Road and r:r1ando Avenue. Glenn Thomas
seconded the motion. Motion carried. No nays.
3. The hoard discussed Petitions 73 -2 and 73 -3 for change of zoning.
Attorney Caldwell indicated that there was a legal basis for
granting a petition on the property and that his recommendation
mould he whatever was recommended hy the commission. Mr. Lait
made a motion that the petitions with chanties from R -1AA to C -1

and Rl -Aa to I -1 be denied. Pr. E'.•rooklyn seconded the motion.

Attorney Caldwell advised that the cautious procedure would be
to have a nubile hearing and to table the motion. fair. McRoberts
ri_joneetnd that the board recommend to the Council that the
nronerty be rezoned to R -3, amend the petitions and have a public
hearing. Attorney Caldwell suggested that amendments to these
petitions be filed in the near future. After amendment to
anolications, a nublic hearing date will he set on the Darlington
nronerty. A work session was scheduled for Tuesday night, July 31.

Attorney Caldwell presented his rough draft for an ordinance
nn setback requirements for roads. He recommended that conies
of the draft ho made for the work session on July 31.
Attorney Caldwell is working on general information on Island
Iftw Annexation, the rinsed Rusiness Ordinance, rerouting of 50679,
and plans for extansion on zoni nn.
