HomeMy WebLinkAboutBOA 07-09-1974 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT CITY OF OCOEE HELD JULY 9, 1974 PRESENT: BREEZE, MEEKS, RHODES AND THOMAS ABSENT: ANZZOLIN Chairman of the Board of Adjustment, Mr. Breeze called the meeting to order at 8 :00 p.m. Mr. Breeze explained to Mr. Amick that there could in fact be a joint meeting of the Zoning and Adjustment Boards but the final decision on his petition would be made by the Board of Adjustment only. Mr. Amick briefed the board on his request to build 1000 square foot houses in area zoned for 1200 square feet. Mr. Amick also explained that based on recommendation from the Planning & Zoning Board that he had designed these homes so that they could be expandable. The Zoning Board explained to the members of the Adjustment Board that they had recommended Mr. Amick try for a variance rather than a change of zoning due to the involved time factor. Mr. Zeke Evans presented some bf the house plans to the boards. After some discussion from the audience and both boards t the Adustment Board retired at 9:00 p.m. to try and reach a decision. The meeting was recalled to order at 9:45 p.m. Mr. Breeze explained to Mr. Amick that the Adjustment Board could not reach a decision at this time and explained that said decision was being deferred until July 24, 1974. Armstrong petition requesting a variance from 1400 square feet of living area to 782 square feet. After much discussion from the audience the Board of Adjustment again retired to try and reach a decision at 9:55 p.m. The meeting was recalled to order at 10:00 p.m. Mr. Breeze explained that before the board could act on the above petition they would need a representative for the Armstrongs' present and also some additional information from the Building Inspector of the City, therefore based on the above factors the decision of this petition was deferred until July 24, 1974.
