PRESENT: CH. BOWNESS, MEMBERS BROOKLYN, CARTER, PECK, TURNER
ABSENT: McROBERT, THOMAS
Meeting was called to order at 7:43 P. M. by Mr. Peck.
I. Public Hearing - Pine and Palm Streets Property Rezoning. Mr. Peck
explained to public that Mr. Don Barker had come before the board to request
permission to put a home smaller than zoning requirements on his property and
the board had reviewed the circumstances, finding that area was overzoned.
No existing homes meet the requirements so the board decided to hold a public
hearing to rezone the entire area. There were eight citizens in attendance and
all but two were in favor of R1A zoning. Those two were neutral. Mr. Turner
moved to recommend to Council to rezone the property R1A, seconded by Mr. Bowness.
Unanimous.
Public Hearing adjourned at 7:57 P. M.
Mr. Peck then called the regular meeting to order at 7:58 P. M.
Judge Mattie Farmer wishes to sell antiques from her home which she has
collected over the years. Mr. Turner stated that since her property is already
zoned C -2 she does not have a zoning problem and should simply buy an occu-
pational license to sell and proceed.
Minutes of the May 25th meeting were accepted as read.
