PRESENT: BOWNESS, BROOKLYN, CARTER, KENNEDY, LAIT, McROBERT, THOMAS
ABSENT: HALL, TIMBES
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Bowness at 7:46 P. M.
Although the meeting was called to give the board the opportunity to draw on
Mr. Hall's and Mr. Timbes's memories, it was decided to continue with the meeting
in their absence as the right place on the tape of the meeting held November 22,
1977 had been located and played for the board, clarifying the issue on the
motion made by Mr. Timbes on Petition 77 -7. The concensus was that the motion
was to grant the petition. Mr. Lait moved that the minutes of that meeting be
amended to read verbatum the same as the recording tape. Second by Mr. Kennedy.
Unanimous. The correction immediately follows Mr. Lait's motion to deny petition,
which was not passed, and is as follows: Chairman Bowness called for a positive
motion. Mr. Timbes moved to recommend to city council and get the city attorney
to interpret it. Second by Mr. Brooklyn. Vote was 3 ayes and 2 nays with Chairman
Bowness not voting. Motion carried.
Minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as read.
Mr. Carter moved to ask council to renew that ordinance that if a church can
build by a tavern, a tavern should be able to build by a church. Second by
Mr. Kennedy. Unanimous.
Meeting adjourned at 7:56 P. M.
Respectfully submitt:•,
