SLEEPY HARBOR
May 4, 1978
Mr. Ray Lait, member of Planning and Zoning Board, using maps and diagrams,
showed residents of Sleepy Harbor existing zoning and improvements in city
and requested citizens' thoughts and desires for future planning.
The following are suggestions from the twenty seven citizens in attendance:
1. Area north of Starke Lake and Sleepy Harbor should be protected
and not be made commercial.
2. Pool and tennis courts - recreation area. 1 at Lake Moxie and
1 at Sleepy Harbor (City dump)
3. High bridge over canal for bike path
4. Baseball field at dump
5. Pool at Starke Lake
6. If the quality of commercial and industrial centers that we have
now is what we can expect if we get more then no more, please.
7. Prefer city to remain small and nice; please not so much "grow ".
8. Change R -3 sections on Orlando Avenue to single residences. (future)
9. Eliminate all commercial possible from Bluford Avenue east; no more
expansion for Industrial Park.
10. Condemned houses should be torn down if possible.
11. Sidewalks
12. Bike paths
13. Campers should not be parked on front lawns.
14. Take steps to avoid pollution of Starke Lake with drainage run -off.
15. Orderly planning for future sewer service
16. More advance notice for next meeting
