ABSENT: HALL, KENNEDY, LAIT
CALL TO ORDER
Meeting was called to order at 7:32 P. M. by Chairman Bowness.
OCTOBER 24, 1978 MINUTES ACCEPTED
Mr. McRobert moved to accept minutes of meeting held October 24, 1978.
Mr. Timbes seconded the motion. Vote was unanimous in favor.
PETITION 78 -7 -- REQUEST FOR ZONING CHANGE FROM R1AA TO C1 ON ORLANDO AVENUE
Mr. Henry G. Johnson, Realtor /, - W o a c g�i 1 for Robert W. and Nereida Carlson,
requested a change in zoning from R1AA to C1 on their property which lies on the
south side of Orlando Avenue between Bluford Avenue and Lakewood Street, more
specifically described as follows:
Lot 37 and N z of Lot 38 Block 4, Plat Book A Page 100 -101
Town of Ocoee.
Mr. Jerry Fine, representing Mini -Mart Developers of Miami, (prospective
buyers of a corner lot 236' X 193' of the property) came before the Board to show
sketches of proposed convenience store with gas pumps which they will erect if
zoning change is approved. The property would be left in as close to natural
condition as possible, removing only those trees absolutely necessary to put in
building. Mr. Timbes moved to recommend to Commissioners that the property not
be rezoned. Mr. McRobert seconded. Vote was unanimous in favor. There were
approximately forty citizens present to voice their opinions regarding rezoning -
all negative.
ZONING CHANGES ON PORTIONS OF LAKEVIEW 3rd, 4th, and 5th ADDITIONS
Mr. Timbes noved to recommend to Commissioners not to rezone this area
but to have individual owners apply to Board of Adjustment for variance from the
required size of house as each case comes up. Mr. McRobert seconded. Vote was
unanimous in favor.
SUGGESTED NEW MEMBERS
Members of the Board suggested that Mr. Ray Wood and Mr. Newy Breland
are both excellent choices should a vacancy occur on the Board.
