HomeMy WebLinkAboutPZ 03-14-1979 MINUTES OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING HELD MARCH 14, 1979 701 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN PUBLIC HEARING AND QUARTERLY REVIEW PRESENT: Bowness, Brooklyn, Carter, Hager, Rodgers ABSENT: Lait, McRobert, Thomas, Timbes, Busch (alt.) Also present in the audience were: Jim Sayes, Community Development Coordinator, Cecil Hurst, City Building Official, and (3) interested citizens, Joe Heeb, Vama Bronson and Steve Heeb. CALL TO ORDER Meeting was called to order at 7:38 P. M. by Chairman Bowness in the Commission Chambers. MINUTES ACCEPTED Upon a motion by Mr. Rodgers, seconded by Mr. Brooklyn and unanimously passed, the minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as read. 701 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN Rick Anderson presented the balance of Phase 1 of 701 Comprehensive Plan showing Ocoee's present supply of potable water supply and sanitary sewer system. He suggested that since a current water system map does not exist that one should be made soon and be kept current. Upon a motion by Mr. Hager, seconded by Mr. Rodgers and passed unanimously, Board recommends that City Council request Water Department Supervisor draw map of old part of town showing size of water lines and location of valves. �-- Mr. Anderson then presented to Board the figures he had tabulated from the Citizen's Input Survey made during open forums in previous weeks. He also suggested Board divide into two groups and each group examine four of the elements in the total plan to research possible problems in each area of planning. REQUEST FOR EXTENSION As the deadline for having plan prepared and adopted is very close and only Phase 1 of the basic steps has been completed, Board agreed that a re- quest for extension is in order. Mr. Brooklyn moved to recommend to Council a letter be sent to Division of State Planning by the mayor requesting an extension. Motion was seconded by Mr. Hager and unanimously passed. NEXT MEETING WITH RICK ANDERSON Mr. Anderson will draw up land use plan showing County's projection and present it to Board on April 10, 1979. ADJOURNMENT Meeting adjourned at 8:35 P. M.
