PRESENT: AHO, BROOKLYN, LAHDE, LAIT, McROBERT, SANDERS, YOUNT
ABSENT: MAGILL, THOMAS
CALL TO ORDER
Meeting was called to order at 7:35 P. M. by Chairman McRobert in the
commission chambers.
MINUTES APPROVED
Upon a motion by Mr. Lande and second by Mr. Sanders the minutes of the
last meeting were unanimously approved as written.
LOOMIS RE: FUNERAL HOMES CLASSIFICATION
Mr. Jimmy Loomis requested that the Board consider changing the
classification of Funeral Homes in the Zoning Ordinance from C2 to something more
appropriate as the conducting of funerals is a profession rather than a commercial
venture.
After considerable discussion Chairman McRobert polled the Board and all
members present wished to leave classification at C2 except for Mr. Sanders, who
thought it should be PS.
Chairman McRobert then asked the Board should there be an opportunity in
a year to rewrite that portion of the Zoning Ordinance would they change it to PS.
In this polling all members but Mr. Aho would leave it as it is.
Chairman McRobert advised Mr. Loomis that he could go before Commission
with his request but that the Board would not concur with rewriting at this time.
INFORMATION FROM MR. BROOKLYN
Mr. Brooklyn advised that he had been approached by a citizen about
putting a shopping center on his property on Starke Lake and that he had assured
the person that no one was interested.
ADJOURNMENT
Meeting adjourned at 8:27 P. M.
Respectfully submitted,
