PETITION 81 -4
Request was made by Mr. Marc Hagle to change the zoning of his property
which fronts approximately 354' on Silver Star Rd., 432' on Bluford
and 580' on Franklin. This zoning would be changed from R -1AA to R -3.
Mr. Hagle described proposed development as having approximately 5 acres
of land on which to build multi -unit condominiums, 12 units per acre in
L. density and would be in the price range of mid to upper $40's. Pre -
liminary drawing of proposed change was shown to Board members.
Several interested parties raised questions concerning the proposed
project and requested that the Board deny the Petition. Among those
present were Grace Kerr, Richard Davis, Don Aycock, and Mabel Watson.
Mr. Hurst pointed out that the Board's purpose was to determine if
the area in question was the proper place for apartments and to make
its recommendation to the City Commissioners. Also, that recent findings
show that the area is at present zoned R -1A and R -1 by the Comprehensive
Land Plan.
Mr. Breeze raised these questions:
Q. What about drainage engineering accomodation?
A. There would be On -Site Retention to accomodate the area.
Q. Sewerage?
A. Sewerage service would be provided by Cliff Freeman's plant and
City water would be available.
Q. Would Mr. Hagle consider reducing number of units from 12 to 6 or 8?
A. Mr. Hagle feels the original 12 unit plan conforms with the present
building requirements.
L Motion was made by Mr. Magill to recommend denial of rezoning change
to the City Commission of Petition 81 -4. Motion was seconded by
Mr. Sanders and vote was unanimous in favor.
