HomeMy WebLinkAboutPZ 07-12-1983 MINUTES OF PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING HELD JULY 12, 1983 PRESENT: Chairman Breeze, Members Brooklyn, Colella, Sanders ABSENT: Lande, Magill, Thomas, Yount. Aho resigned July 5, 1983. CALL TO ORDER Chairman Breeze declared that since there were currently only eight members that four members present constituted a quorum and he called the meeting to order at 7:43 P.M. in the Commission Chambers. JUNE 28, 1983 MINUTES APPROVED Upon a motion by Mr. Brooklyn and second by Mr. Sanders, the minutes of the meeting held June 28, 1983 were unanimously approved as read. Chairman Breeze pointed out to petitioners that it is a new procedure for Planning and Zoning Board to consider requests for annexation and that it was his duty to advise that State Statute requires that property annexed into city must retain county zoning for two years, unless a waiver is granted. HAILE PROPERTY PETITION 83 -7 Mr. Bardo, Sand Lake Realty, representing Mr. William Haile, requested annexation of a parcel fronting on Old Winter Garden Road, Blackwood Avenue, Seminole Avenue and Twin Lake Drive, containing 38.5 acres. Mr. Bardo explained that it was their desire to build 12 condos to the acre in the $40- $60,000 class and would require R3 zoning to do this. Mr. Brooklyn moved to recommend to Commission annexing said parcel blow if city can provide services. Mr. Sanders seconded and vote was unanimous in favor. Mr. Sanders moved to recommend to Commission zoning parcel R3 if county will waive moratorium or following a two year wait. Mr. Colella seconded and vote was unanimous in favor. LOTT PROPERTY PETITION 83 -6 Mr. Charles Satterfield, representing Johnnie Lott, requested annexation of his parcel #10 located in NWi Section 18, Twp22, R28, which is located on Pine Street. Chairman Breeze advised that there was some question as to whether parcel is in county or city due to conflicting map records and a search of the ordinances must be made to determine facts. Mr. Sanders moved to recommend to Commission annexing parcel if search reveals it to be in county. Mr. Brooklyn seconded and vote was unanimous in favor. Mr. colella moved to recommend R1A zoning if property is annexed. Mr. Sanders seconded and vote was unanimous in favor. NOTE: Subsequently confirmed that property is i'n county. Low SMITH SUGGESTED AS REPLACEMENT FOR AHO Members recommend Burton Smith be considered as prospective member to replace Mr. Aho who resigned July 5, 1983.
