AUGUST 23, 1983 MINUTES CORRECTED AND APPROVED Chairman Breeze pointed out (2) items were left off the August 23, 1983 Planning and Zoning Board meeting minutes. Items are as follows: 1.) Ch. Breeze asked Mr. Hurst, Bldg. Official, to prepare a list to be presented to the Commission of members of the Planning and Zoning Board who have not attended the meetings for the past year. Chairman Breeze felt said members should be dropped from the P & Z Board as per Chapter II of the Zoning Ordinance. 2.) Ch. Breeze wished to recommend to the City Commission the number of members on the P & Z Board be reduced from (9) to (7) members. Motion was made by Mr. Lande, seconded by Mr. Sanders to approve the Aug. 23, 1983 meeting minutes as corrected. Vote was unanimous in favor. PETITION 83 -11 - REQUEST FOR ANNEXATION PROPERTY FRONTING ADAIR ST. - MR. HERBERT Lbw A. BOLVES, AGENT Mr. Herbert A. Bolves requested annexation for parcel 42, Section 8, which fronts on Adair St. Said property is presently zoned A -1, Mr. Bolves stated a future request for zoning change to R -1. Motion was made by Mr. La1 e, seconded by Mr. Magill to recommend approval to the City Commission, the annexation and future zoning change subject to the waiver by the County of the (2) year moratorium for zoning change. Chairman Breeze noted the annexation request for approximately (5) acres fronting on A.D. Mims Rd. is an add on to the Agenda and there may be some question as to whether the Planning and Zoning Boards's recommendation will be legal as no petition, as of date, has been filed with the clerks at City Hall. Roger Freeman, representing Mr. James F. Covington, Jr., gave a brief presentation requesting an annexation for approximately (5) acres fronting A.D. Mims Rd. Mr. Freeman also noted a future request to change the zoning from A -1 to R -2 (subject to the 2 year moratorium by the County for zoning change) with the intentions of building $100,000+ duplexes. Mr. Sanders expressed his concern of springs on said property. Motion was made by Mr. Magill, seconded by Mr. Yount to recommend approval to the Now City Commission the annexation and future zoning change with the understanding said requests may have to be re- presented to the Planning and Zoning Board. Vote was unanimous in favor. PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING MINUTES CONT.
