Vice - Chairman Switzer opened the Public Hearing for comments.
George Garrett, 1915 E. Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL came forward as
the project engineer for Dr. and Mrs. Ernest Costantino Jr. Mr.
Garrett stated that the site would be brought up to code, including
the parking area, and that a site plan would be submitted for City
Staff's review and approval.
Glenda Hall, 806 Apricot Drive, Ocoee, FL came forward as the
Applicant /Owner's authorized agent. Ms. Hall commented that the
interior layout of the building would have one end of the building
as a farmer's market, the perimeter would be new merchandise, and
the inside of the market would be crafts that locals could make and
sell on weekends. Ms. Hall stated that there have been no
commitments as of yet. The hours of operation would begin on,
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and then later consider a full week.
With some concern shown by the Board that the project would become
a eyesore, Planning Director Behrens stated that the City must
require the developer to bring the site up to code, but it was not
the City's responsibility to make sure of its success.
Rob McKey, 1110 Wineberry Court, Ocoee, FL came forward commending
the developer in fixing up the empty buildings.
After no further input from the public, the Public Hearing was
closed and the issue was brought to the table for discussion.
