Members Present: Bruce Beatty, Jack Marsden, Cliff Rhodes, Margaret
Ryan, Deputy City Clerk Jones.
Members Absent : Leon Terry, Glenn Thomas
Meeting Started at 7:30 p.m.
CALL TO ORDER
Bruce Beatty asked if Jack Marsden would be acting chairperson until
a new chairperson could be elected and Mr. Marsden answered yes. At
this point in the meeting Mr. Beatty motioned to elect a new chair-
person and Mr. Rhodes seconded. The vote was carried unanimously.
Mr. Rhodes then nominated Mr. Beatty and Mrs. Ryan seconded the nom-
ination. Mr. Rhodes motioned to take the nomination to a vote and
Mrs. Ryan seconded. The vote was carried unanimously for Mr. Bruce
Beatty to be the new chairperson.
CONSIDERATION OF PROPERTY ON SILVER STAR ROAD
Chairman Beatty asked Mr. Hodge to state exactly what he was asking
for. Mr. Hodge stated that he wanted to take three (3) lots and have
them reduced to two (2) lots for two (2) homes to be built on. Chair-
man Beatty stated that essentially asking for a variance to the width
of the street, reducing same to thirty (30) feet on the East side.
y At this time Mr. Griffin, Assistant City Manager, went to the City map
and pointed out the property. All the Board members got up and went
to the map. After considerable discussion Jack Marsden motioned to
except the waiver, as stated in the Ordinance, reguarding parcels 172,
180, 190. Mr. Rhodes seconded the motion. The vote was carried unan-
imously. Chairman Beatty stated that the Board would recommend the
waiver, according to the ordinance, to the City Commission.
NOMINATIONS FOR ALTERNATE MEMBERS TO SUBMIT TO THE COMMISSION
There was considerable discussion on the nomination for new members
to the Board of Adjustment. Mr. Marsden suggested Mr. Willie Goff.
Chairman Beatty suggested Mr. Gene Dickerson. These names were given
to Mr. Ken Griffin.
At this time Mr. Marsden motioned to adjourn and Mr. Beatty seconded.
The vote was carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 7:47 p.m.
