1, 1984 Board of Adjustments meeting minutes and approve them as
typed and distributed.
VARIANCE REQUEST: Parking Spaces - Clayton Colvin
Gene Dickerson asked Mr. Colvin what type of surface he planned
to use for the parking area. Mr. Colvin stated that concrete
would be poured for the parking area and that the driveway off
of the street would be paved.
Martha Johnson of 11 Floral St., Ocoee was present at the meeting.
She was very concerned about what type of business would be going
in at 140 S. Bluford (Mr. Colvin's property) as it is close to her
residence. She seemed very worried that a used car lot would be
opened on Mr. Colvin's property. The Board and Mr. Colvin assured
Ms. Johnson that the zoning for that area would not permit a used
car lot. Mr. Colvin stated that he will be opening an Antique and
Collectable Shop on the property.
Ron Thomas, Building Official for the City stated that the reason
for the variance request was that the parking space will be less
than normally required. The lot that Mr. Colvin bought for park-
ing will accomidate 4 parking spaces at 8'x20' rather than 9'x20'.
Cliff Rhodes motioned to approve the variance request for parking.
Willie Goff seconded the motion and the vote was carried unanimou-
sly.
VARIANCE REQUEST:, Sign Location - Clayton Colvin
Gene Dickerson asked Mr. Colvin what type of material the sign
would be made of and how large would it be. Mr. Colvin stated
that the sign would be made with 4x4s and plywood and that it
would be 8 feet high and approximately 4 feet wide.
