Dear Historic Commission and interested parties to the
Withers Maguire Historic House operation and contents
It has come to the attention of the city that artifacts have been removed from the premises
Withers Maguire Historic House without due authorization of same.
It is not the intention of the city to destroy this historic institution, nor should it be anyone else's
intention: therefore the locks are being changed as I write this memo of purpose.
At the next commission meeting there will be a discussion of what has happened and what
direction the city and Historic Commission will take from then forward. The lock out will be of a
temporary nature until the problem is solved.
Anyone having a claim for articles in the building should be at this meeting with evidence of a
claim on items.
