Fire Assessment Final Resolution

I. CALL TO ORDER
II. Public Hearing - Final Resolution for the Fire Assessment Fee. (Advertised
in the Orlando Sentinel Classified Legal on Thursday, August 8, 2013 ).
III. Staff Presentation - Assistant City Manager Shadrix, Staff from GSG Consultants
The final steps in implementing the fire assessment fee are for the City to adopt the final fire assessment fee
resolution. Upon adoption the City needs only to certify the assessment roll to the Tax Collector by September 15,
2013, before the assessment appears on the November 2013 tax bill.
City Attorney Cookson will introduce the following documents into the record:
A. A certified copy of City Ordinance 2013 -010, the ordinance imposing the fire assessment.
B. A certified copy of City Resolution 2013 -010, the preliminary resolution calling for the
hearing tonight.
C. The fire assessment roll
D. The City of Ocoee Fire Assessment Dispute Discrepancies /Corrections Log from phone
in calls received by the City.
E. The notice mailed to property owners
F. Written objections received by the City.
Citizens will be given an opportunity to fill out a speaker form and speak at the public podium.
Citizen comments will be limited to the three minutes per speaker. All persons speaking must do
so in accordance with the City of Ocoee Civility Code (see reverse side)

Pursuant to Resolution No. 2003 -16 adopted on July 1, 2003, the following Civility Code
shall govern all proceedings before the City of Ocoee City Commission and Boards:
1. All electronic devices, including cell phones and pagers, shall be either turned off or
otherwise silenced.
2. Prolonged conversations shall be conducted outside Commission Chambers.
3. Clapping, whistling, heckling, gesturing, loud conversations, or other disruptive
behavior is prohibited.
4. Only those individuals who have submitted speaker forms and who have been
recognized by the Mayor (or Chair) may address comments to the Commission (or
Board).
5. Comments at public hearings shall be limited to the subject being considered by the
Commission.
6. Comments at Citizens Comments shall be directed to City issues.
7. All public comments shall avoid personal attacks, abusive language and
redundancy.
8. No person attending a Commission or Board meeting is to harass, annoy or
otherwise disturb any other person in the room.
Any member of the public whose behavior is disruptive and violates the City of Ocoee
Civility Code is subject to removal from the Commission (or Board) meeting by an officer
and such other action as may be appropriate.
