ORDINANCE No. 90-24
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, AMENDING
CHAPTER 10 OF THE OCOEE CITY CODE, FIRE PROTECTION AND
PREVENTION, BY ADOPTING AN ARTICLE III ENTITLED
SPRINKLER, STANDPIPE AND FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS
REQUIRING AUTOMATIC FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission to protect
the health and welfare of the citizens of the City of Ocoee from
fire hazards as quickly and safely as possible; and

WHEREAS, fire experts (National Fire Protection
Association) estimate the success record for sprinkler systems in
this country to be 97%; and
WHEREAS, tests by the National Fire Protection Association
and other national testing laboratories have shown that sprinkler
heads respond in as little as 35 seconds and completely
extinguish the blaze; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED by the City Commission of the
City of Ocoee, Florida, that:
SECTION 1.
Short Title and Authority.
A. This Ordinance shall be known and may be cited as
that "Sprinkler, Standpipe and Fire Protection Systems".
B. The City Commission of the City of Ocoee has the
authority to adopt this Ordinance pursuant to Article VIII of the
Constitution of the State of Florida and Chapters 163 and 166,
Florida Statutes.
SECTION 2. The following Article III of Chapter 10 of
the Code of Ordinances of the City of Ocoee, Florida, is hereby
created and reads as follows:

SECTION 3. If any section, phrase, sentence, or portion
of this Ordinance is for any reason held invalid or
unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such
portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct, and independent
provlslon and such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions thereof.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall
