))�T)CrRCR&, Approximately 750 children are currently available for adoption without
an identified adoptive family, including teenagers, sibling groups, and
children with medical needs; and
)L,q I ci-zt every child needs and deserves a loving, supportive, nurturing, and
permanent family when it is determined that the child cannot be safely
returned home; and
Ehe Governor's Office of Adoption and Child Protection, the Florida
Department of Children and Families, Community Based Care Lead
Agencies, Explore Adoption, Heart Galleries, State Agencies, and local
organization join together to raise awareness of foster care adoption in
Florida; and
IT R)(ErkC P ovember 23, 2013 is National Adoption Day and families and children
across the great State of Florida will celebrate the joy of adoption on this
day and throughout the month, while remembering our children who are
still dreaming and hoping for a loving, permanent family of their own; and
Jlorida will celebrate National Adoption Month and Florida Adoption
Month through 30 Days of Amazing Children, Explore Adoption; and
)Crti((Gq Ocoee families, including relatives and grandparents, who have already
adopted children may benefit from continued post - adoption support
services in the days and years ahead.
Now, q - herefore, 1, S. Scott Vander-rift, Mayor, do hereby proclaim the month of
November, 2013 as,
Ocoee, Florida - Adoption Month
in Ocoee, and urge all citizens recognize the specials families who open their hearts and
homes to adoption.
