HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-19-1980MINUTES OF THE CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF THE CITY OF OCOEE HELD 19 FEBRUARY 80 Mayor Freeman called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and the meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Present were Comm. Lyle, Hager, Stinnett and Whitehead; City Manager, Vignetti; City Attorney, Rhodes; and City Clerk, Gann. 5 FEBRUARY 80 COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES Comm. Hager moved to approve minutes as presented, seconded Comm.Whitehead. Unanimous. 12 FEBRUARY 80 MINUTES OF SPECIAL COMMISSION MEETING Comm. Whitehead moved to approve the minutes of the Special Meeting as presented, seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. 12 FEBRUARY ZONING BOARD MEETING MINUTES Minutes of the Zoning Board meeting held 12 February 80 were read into the record for information only. RESOLUTION -TO PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION - PROTESTING HIGH SEWERAGE RATES IN THE INDUSTRIAL PARK City Manager read the Resolution in its entirety. Comm Lyle moved to adopt the resolution, seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. EL CONQUISTADOR(TABLED FROM LAST MEETING)- COMPLAINTS Comm. Whitehead moved to bring off table, seconded Comm.Stinnett. Unanimous. Donald Barker, spokesman for a group of citizens in the Pine Street and Palm Drive area complained to council about the noise and high speed in their neighborhood, the citizens were assuming the noise and the speeders were coming from the El Conquistador. Julius Williams, attorney for John Torrez (manager of E1 Conquistador), the citizens of the area and council agreed that they would work together to solve the situation. City Attorney suggested that the speed limit in the Pine Street and Palm Drive area be established at a low level and the area be patroled more frequently. DONATION REQUEST -WEST ORANGE Y.M.C.A.(TABLED FROM LAST MEETING Comm. Whitehead moved to bring off the table, seconded Comm. Lyle.Unanimous. Comm. Whitehead moved to deny the request, seconded Comm.Stinnett. Unanimous. RE SOLUTION -LEAA CRIMINAL JUSTICE ENTITLEMENT FUNDS City Manager read resolution in its entirety. Comm. Lyle moved to adopt the resolution, seconded Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous. CITY COMMISSION MEETING n T _ _17— 19 FEBRUARY 80 ROSS BUILDERS - HOWARD POMP Howard Pomp, President of Ross Builders stated that in consideration of Ross Builders deeding the city the necessary easements to loop the water line he would like confirmation that his company would not be charged connection fees from the canal west to White Road. Council assured Mr. Pomp that the water line would be extended to White Road at the expense of the Ferdinand brothers and White Road would be the connect point for Ross Builders. PLAT APPROVAL -2ND & 3RD ADDITION OF TWIN LAKES MANOR Comm. Hager moved to approve the plat, seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous. COMMISSION ACTION ON ZONING BOARD RECOMMENDATION - PETITION #80 -1- ZONING CH ANGE IN MARION PARK FROM RIAAA TO R1A The Zoning Board recommended that the zoning change request(RlAAA to Rla) Petition #80 -1 be denied. Comm. Stinnett moved to accept the zoning board's recommendation and deny the zoning change request in Petition #80 -1, seconded Comm.Whitehead. Unanimous.
