Mayor Freeman called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and the meeting was
opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Present were Comm. Lyle,
Hager, Stinnett & Whitehead; City Manager, Vignetti; City Attorney, Rhodes;
and City Clerk, Gann.
3 JUNE 80 COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
Minutes of the 3 June 80 Commission meeting were read. Comm.Stinnett moved
to approve the minutes as read, seconded Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous.
PLANNING & ZONING BOARD DID NOT MEET
ORDINANCE - ZONING CHANGE RlA TO Rl -NORTH SPRINGDALE PROPERTY- PUBLIC HEARING &
SECOND READING
Comm. Hager moved that title only of the ordinance be read, seconded Comm.
Stinnett. Unanimous. City Manager read ordinance by title only. No one
wished to speak for or against the adoption of the ordinance. Comm. Stinnett
moved to adopt the ordinance, seconded Comm. Hager. Comm. Stinnett & Hager
voted yea. Comm. Lyle & Whitehead voted nay. To break the tied vote Mayor
Freeman voted yea. Motion carried and ordinance adopted.
CEMETERY ENTRANCE SIGN - JOHN CARTER
Mr. Carter presented a drawing of a proposed entrance sign for the cemetery
for a cost of $1,500.00. Comm. Lyle moved to accept the proposed sign,
seconded Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous.
REQUEST APPROVAL FOR BEER & WINE LICENSE -MR. FASOLAS
Mr. Fasolas, representing Semoran Management Corp. requested approval of a
beer & wine license for the soon to be constructed Pizza Hut and Long John
Silver restaurants. Comm. Stinnett moved to grant the request, seconded
Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous.
RE PORTS /INFORMATION /CITY MANAGER /MAYOR /COMMISSIONERS
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE LUNCH 19 JUNE 80
City Manager stated that council had been invited to attend the Chamber of
Commerce luncheon at which the County Commissioners would be speaking. Mayor
Freeman and the City Manager have a previous appointment and will not be
able to attend. Not any of the council members will be able to attend.
BOWNESS ROAD PAVING
City Manager stated that the City Engineer, Walter Kuhrt had said a survey
of Bowness Road is needed. Comm. Lyle moved to instruct the City Manager to
write the county requesting that they do the engineering, surveying and
paving of Bowness Road, seconded Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous.
KE NTWOOD STREET
City Manager stated he had received a call from Mrs. McClosky and she and
several citizens were requesting that the city close Kentwood Street from
Bluford Ave. to Lakewood Ave. Comm Lyle moved to grant the request, seconded
Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous.

REPORTS /INFORMATION CONTINUED:
City Manager stated that due to ill health Chief Vandergrift had resigned
and he was recommending that the city pay him twelve (12) weeks severance
pay. Comm. Lyle moved to approve the recommendation, seconded Comm.
Whitehead. Unanimous.
GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE BIDS
Office Manager, George Wood explained the bids submitted by Prudential,
Equitable, Blue Cross /Blue Shield (Don Mott) and Florida Municipal.
Comm. Lyle moved to accept the bid submitted by Blue Cross /Blue Shield,
seconded Comm. Stinnett. Unanimous.
