Mayor Freeman called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. and the meeting was
opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Present were Comm. Lyle,
Hager, Stinnett & Whitehead; City Manager, Vignetti; City Attorney, Rhodes;
and City Clerk, Gann.
17 JUNE 80 COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
Minutes of 17 June 80 Commission meeting were read. Comm. Stinnett moved
to approve the minutes as read, seconded Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous.
PLANNING & ZONING BOARD DID NOT MEET
ORDINANCE - ABANDONING & CLOSING KENTWOOD AVE.FROM BLUFORD AVE. TO LAKEWOOD AVE.
1ST READING
Comm. Lyle moved that title only of the ordinance be read, seconded Comm.
Hager. Unanimous. City Manager read ordinance by title only. Second Reading
and Public Hearing of the ordinance will be held 15 July 80.
PE TITION - PROTESTING THE APPEARANCE OF ROBERT WALLICK'S PROPERTY
Representing a group of citizens from the Prima Vista Subdivision, Mr. Keith
Butts stated they were opposed to the appearance of Mr. Wallicks property
and were requesting that it be cleaned up. Mr Wallick agreed to put slats
in the six foot fence that is already there and to do some landscaping.
SUBDIVISION PLANS APPROVAL FOR NORTH SPRINGDALE & OCOEE GARDEN VILLAS
Mr. Bill Goodman stated he would donate $12,000 if the council would accept
the proposed 24' paving of Adair Road. Mr. Goodman agreed to make it 26'
if the City Engineer would assure him that this would not affect the drainage.
in addition Mr. Goodman agreed to pay the city $9,000 in lieu of the 5%
land recreation assessment and he also agreed to provide a Land Planner to
the city to develop a park. ($12,000 + $9,000 = $21,000) ($21,000 will take
care of the recreational assessment for North Springdale Subdivision and
ten acres only for Ocoee Garden Villas)
Comm Stinnett moved to accept the preliminary plat, seconded Comm. Hager
Unanimous.
CITY OWNED LAND - ANNEXATION
Comm. Stinnett moved to instruct the City Manager to start the necessary
procedures to annex the 20 acres that the City purchased from Mrs. Sims in
1979, seconded Comm. Whitehead. Unanimous.
REPORTS /INFORMATION /CITY MANAGER /COMMISSIONERS /MAYOR
City Manager reported that the Auto Auction opened today on a trial basis
to work out any problems they might have.
Council instructed the City Manager to write a letter to Senator Chiles
protesting the fact that some residents and businesses in the City have
Winter Garden mailing addresses.
